Electrical Engineer
Earthing Risk Management’s success and continuing growth mean that we now require an Electrical Engineer/Technician to support our Senior Engineering team based in Caerphilly.
Earthing Risk Management Ltd. is a small company, with offices in Surrey and South Wales, which specialises in measurements and analysis of high voltage substation earthing systems.
The role will be varied in nature but in the main will involve helping to deliver technical projects for sites throughout the UK including: compiling reports detailing site assessments, carrying out computer simulations of earthing system faults and sourcing and interpreting engineering drawings using internet based systems. There will also be a requirement to visit substation sites to assist with advanced measurement procedures. The successful individual will have the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of earthing systems and the important safety function they provide.
The role would particularly suit a self motivated individual with good organisational and interpersonal skills who would thrive in a dynamic and responsive small business environment. A good level of physical fitness is needed for site work.
A minimum of a HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering is required and, although not essential, some experience of the Electricity Supply Industry would be beneficial. Above all, the individual must have a reasonable understanding of electrical engineering and also have good written and verbal communication skills. IT literacy is also a must. Experience in CAD would be beneficial.
The post offers a competitive salary commensurate with age and experience plus a bonus of up to 10% depending on personal and Company performance.
